Lagrimas de Oró
The client
The client is a home brewer and artist from Yucatán, Mexico, with a deep family legacy in rum-making from Haiti that spans 5-6 generations. Inspired by his sister’s honey wine production and the historical tradition of mead-making from Ethiopia to the Iberian Peninsula, he collaborates with local honey farmers to create his product, Lágrimas de Oro, made with the finest honey from Yucatán.
The project's objective was to create a visually compelling and culturally resonant label design for Lágrimas de Oro. The design needed to honor the client’s family legacy, his collaboration with Yucatán honey farmers, and the rich tradition of mead production, while meeting a tight deadline.
I delivered a distinctive label design within a one-day turnaround, incorporating elements that celebrate both the heritage of mead-making and the artisanal quality of the product. The design highlighted the robust, affectionate flavor profile of Lágrimas de Oro, ensuring the bottle stands out while paying homage to the client’s artistic roots and the rich cultural legacies tied to the brand.
